ANTONIO MURGA - Resurrected

A sonic testimony from a world on the brink

Some albums are not released according to a predetermined schedule. They emerge at a particular moment, because what they express suddenly resonates with the world around us.

Resurrected, the new album by Antonio Murga, is one of them.

This release was not originally planned for this time. But in the face of the events unfolding across our planet at the end of 2026, we felt it was important not to wait. Camembert Électrique has therefore decided to release this album without delay, convinced that certain artistic expressions take on their full meaning when they meet the moment they belong to.

Based in Aljarafe, Andalusia, Antonio Murga has been a longstanding figure in Spain's experimental music scene. A musician, poet, video artist and radio broadcaster, he has spent several decades exploring the territories of independent sound creation. His journey has taken him through numerous collaborative projects and solo productions, always driven by an insatiable curiosity for the freest and most unexpected forms of music.

With Resurrected, Antonio Murga turns his attention to an increasingly troubling international landscape. Political tensions, conflicts, social upheavals and uncertainties about our future form the backdrop to this new work.

Yet the artist does not claim to predict the future or offer ready-made answers. Instead, he proposes a personal reflection, built through sonic spheres, unexpected associations and musical landscapes. A way of translating his concerns, questions and sometimes contradictions, without attempting to impose a single truth.

In his accompanying text, Antonio reflects on the situation in Europe, the tensions running through our societies, and the strange contradiction that sometimes forces even the most peaceful people to confront violence. He also expresses a simple but essential conviction: perhaps what we need most is dialogue, rather than constant confrontation.

The album also opens with a reference to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's victory in Brazil's presidential election on 25 October 2026. Antonio considers it a genuine epiphany, particularly as the composition in question was created one week before the election's second round.

As the album unfolds, the journey moves across different European cities and territories: Italy, Serbia, Belgium, France, Barcelona, Madrid and Bilbao, as well as Portugal, Greece, Berlin and Albania. A collection of places, perspectives and realities forming a personal map of a world in constant motion.

Through his experimental approach, blending electronics, sound collage, improvisation and explorations of sonic textures, Antonio Murga transforms his observations into musical material. Music becomes a language, a space in which to confront reality, but also an opportunity to step back and reflect.

Resurrected is neither a manifesto nor a definitive answer to the concerns of our time. It is an invitation to listen, to think and perhaps to rediscover something that sometimes seems to be slipping away: our ability to engage in dialogue and imagine a different future.

Camembert Électrique is pleased to give this singular work a place and share it with you.
