Across ten tracks, Simon Bowler blends breakbeats, hypnotic rhythms, dub, ambient, electronica and experimentation, allowing electronic textures to constantly interact with African musical influences. Kucheza!, African Night Life, The Oasis, Safari, Afro-Naut and The Summoning Of Spirits evoke places and situations as much as images born from listening and imagination.
The album does not attempt to reproduce any particular tradition. Natures Revenge takes, combines, transforms and reimagines. Rhythms become electronic matter, percussion meets synthesizers, and soundscapes move between earth and space, between the organic and the futuristic.
