Deficit & Letargy

EXPERIMENTAL ELECTRONIC / AMBIENT / INSDUSTRIAL

TASHKENT, UZBEKISTAN / MOSCOW, RUSSIA

ABOUT

Deficit & Letargy is a collaboration between two artists exploring the darker territories of electronic and experimental music. Deficit, the project of Tashkent-born Vyacheslav Ismagilov, draws on Uzbek and Central Asian heritage, combining traditional influences with industrial textures, ambient atmospheres and intricate electronic structures. Letargy, created by Artem Vochel in Tashkent in 2003 and now based in Moscow, moves through ambient, dark ambient, instrumental electronics and post-black landscapes.

Their joint work brings these distinct worlds together through powerful rhythms, abrasive industrial elements and deep, acidic drones. Their album Alchemy unfolds as a six-part sonic transformation, moving between IDM structures, dense textures and immersive atmospheres. Neither purely rhythmic nor entirely atmospheric, their music explores the tension between organic heritage and synthetic sound, building a dark and constantly shifting environment where experimentation takes precedence over convention.
